Do you still remember?

I still remember that day eight years ago, I still remember where I was when I got the phone call from my cousin, I still remember how I felt, I still remember...

Va. SPCA exec's dog dies after 4 hours in hot car

Posted 8/26/2009 3:51 PM ET

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — An executive for an anti-animal cruelty group says her 16-year-old blind and deaf dog died after she accidentally left him in her hot car for four hours.

Robin Starr, the CEO of the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says she didn't realize "Louie" was in the car until noon. Starr's husband, Ed, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch he put the dog in her car as she got ready for work Aug. 19. She often took the dog to work with her.

Robin Starr took the dog to two clinics, but he died of kidney failure.

The National Weather Service says the temperature had reached 91 degrees by noon that day.

The board of the SPCA says it still supports Starr, who has been CEO since 1997 and does not plan to resign. It was unclear whether she would be charged.

Annnd Another lie

The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S.

While 90 percent of the guns traced to the U.S. actually originated in the United States, the percent traced to the U.S. is only about 17 percent of the total number of guns reaching Mexico.

Czar of ????

Anyone else wondering about the titles being given to the newly created political positions?

czar
   –noun
1. an emperor or king.
2. (often initial capital letter) the former emperor of Russia.
3. an autocratic ruler or leader.
4. any person exercising great authority or power in a particular field: a czar of industry.

Hum, so we are using names for political positions that are derived from Russian History? And people think I am too skeptical about this whole transition to socialism... POSH!

The ONLY way to insite change is be applying pressure of an extended period of time, so unless we start pushing back we all know what we will have...

Handouts...

Dear Congressmen,

Due to years of investment debauches outside of my control my piggy bank has declined in value to the present day value of $0.03; which is not sufficient for me to take my planned vacations this year. Further more, if I am required to take monies out of my paycheck, I will not have enough capital to make any purchases and will have to cut back on many of my daily activities that I have come to regard as something that I deserve to have and not really perks.

If I am not given a bailout payment of $10.2 million I will not be able to enjoy the life I think I am entitled. I will need these funds no later than April 15th so I can pay my taxes (slight accounting error on my part and in no way was it an attempt to shirk my obligations to the IRS).

Sincerely,

Average American

Change that you can count on...

What has the Dow sunk too? Yes we can sink it to an all time low and blame it on factors outside 'our' control. How much does the Government want to hand out to the Democratic Interests? Yes we can pass a budget full of earmarks under the new administration. Who is going to bail out the economy? Yes private industry and citizens can just toss their entire life savings at the problems so CEOs can get huge bonuses. Who is launching a satellite and threatening war? Yes we can show a sign of weakness so our non-allies will contemplate becoming out right enemies. Who has evicted an entire Air Base? Yes we can allow other world powers to control our foreign policy. Who wants the US to turn to socialism? Yes we can consider changing OUR form of government to follow those we have stood our grounds against yesterday. Who are we going to listen to about amending our constitution? Yes we can allow a 'peace keeping' conglomerate to dictate our domestic policy and civil rights. Yes we can, all sit back and allow the 'Yes' man to ruin what America was founded on, and allow our dreams to become something of the past...

Or we can say No Sir, we would rather not just be a 'Yes' man, but we would like to reserve the right to say NO. Sigh...How did that quote go? "Voting for Obama was like volunteering to be a chicken for Col Saunders." I am sad to report that we haven't even come close to knowing the true consequences of allowing the 'Yes Man' to buy his presidential term...I now thank my fellow Americans for forgetting one of the many lessons that we learned in K-12 Education, 'Just Say No!"

America has allowed Socialism to sip iced tea on the porch, has become a Nation where it is the Tax Payers responsiblity to bail out irresponsible corperations, has allowed a Presidential Canidate to buy his four year stay in the White House, has forgotten the principles that the United States of America was founded on and why it was founded, and is allowing our non-allies to bully us in the Global Theater. Makes me wonder how much longer I will be able to enjoy the Freedom of Speech to write this on my Blog; to wonder how much longer until another line item of the Bill of Rights gets vetoed.

I call on all you Americans who have yet to wake up and smell the roses; the roses are dead you are just smelling artifical rose flavored room freshner; the facts are out there, you just need to see them.

My leap...

Alright, I guess I have kept y'all in suspense long enough....
Yeah that is right, 5 Mega Pixel camera in a Cell Phone extraordinaire. The jury is still out whether or not a cell phone (can we even call them cell phones any more?) running windows is a wise choice, but I will see how things go...

Oh another note, did anyone else hear the New Press Secretary's Press Release today? MAN, now if I was the Man in charge, I would have most certainly picked an orator for that job. My college public communications professor would have made him cry for using 'Um' that many times in a row. For those that didn't get to hear the release it went something like this; "Blah blah blah, um, blah, um, Blah Blah, Um, um, Blabbity Blah BLah, Ummmmmm um, Blah Blah blah, um Blah...Thank you very much." Sigh...It is so hard to be a positive blogger with such extreme retarded behavior from those in charge. Might just have to change it up and be rantin' everyday, um, about the um current state of the um country...um...

Now for the economy, party time is over folks, stop celebrating the election of a minority President and start looking at what our Nation's Economy is doing; before you go off and blame it all on Bust..er I mean Bush, read this article...(hint: Notice the graph of the stock market since election and the change of command. For those that don't know better, down is the bad direction.) Our economy is being systematically driven into the ground, Government is getting bigger, socialism is a few more 'stock purchases' away and according to those who "Won" the election 'we need to spend more to get out of debt.' I am not sure how that works, but maybe I will go out and buy a new car, a house, a secondary residence AND a private plane to get me out of debt... *WINK*

Second Ammendment

For those who don't think he will take it away...

"Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent."

Thanks for voting for 'change that you can count on', earmarks are up, spending is up, the deficit is growing, taxes are up, economy is down, retirement accounts are bleeding, constitutional rights are on the line, socialism is around the corner and the goons who elected him are to busy celebrating the huge success to realize what is going on...

Well, I finally did it...

After months of thought, planning and preparation I have finally come to the point of having to jump off the cliff. No more standing there thinking about things. No more pondering the what ifs. No more second guessing every option...No more reading specifications, the time for implementation has arrived... Are you ready for this public announcement???

Yawn!

Is it time to emerge from my long winter nap yet?

Life has been keeping me busy so I haven't blogged much lately, I suppose I should do more of that soon. I have managed to get out coyote hunting this winter, but the sneaky buggers where on vacation that weekend. I did see a little Quill Pig feasting on bark high up in some shrubs. Check out the snow drift, proof that I am capable of walking on water.
Valentine's day came and went; I spent most of the weekend dealing with a nervous stomach. Still not sure if it was food poisoning, flu or reaction to a new food item. Nothing quite like laying on the couch all weekend, not very romantic I know...

No idea how long before I post again, but I do hope to get some pictured edited and posted soon. But the test comes first and I am running out of study time...Yikes!!!

Today is the day...

So it has been awhile, figured I should say something...Not much to say really other than, all of you who voted for change well check out this... "But that hasn't stopped him from throwing what amounts to at least a $100 million inauguration bash for supporters, many of whom devoted themselves to his campaign." Yeah that is the kind of change we can count on...Politicians gloating in their glory, spending tax payers money and calling it 'economic stimulus'....

Happy New What?

Wow, another year bytes the dust and we are off to a rapid start to this new odd year. 2009 should be an interesting year for me. It will be the year of the professional exams as I plan to take both of my professional engineering exams, a feat that I am not really looking forward to but a hurdle that I am looking forward to sailing over. It will be nice to add, or change, some letters at the end of my name this year so that will be good to have the official title to go along with all my hard work in past years. Outside the professional accomplishments, I am planning on spending some time away from the house and enjoying life a little more than I have in the past couple of years with the nose stuck between the pages of text books.

I would like to announce that I plan on blogging as much in 2009 as I did in 2008 but I am not sure if the busy schedule will allow such luxuries, but I will do my best to attempt such feats. Along with the grand visions of professional certification I am going to attempt to push my range of comfortable precision shooting out an additional 200 yards, perfect my ability to sound like a wounded rabbit, communicate with the howling creatures that hunt at night and enjoy large quantities of the fresh glacial air caused by global warming, all before socialism becomes the new order of the oval office. This is the year of the Annual Guy trip, so planning is underway for where, when and how long; check back in the late spring to see where we went and to enjoy the pictures of the trip.

I have not really made any New Years Resolutions for 2009, since my ability to maintain NYR only exists during even years. But I do have grand illusions of what I would like to accomplish in 2009 so hopefully that will happen and I will have the endurance required.

All in all, this odd year should make for an interesting year and should appear to be one of the shortest years of my life to date. Hope you all survived the ol' year and welcome to the New...
