I know a lot of you have been curious about my life outside of work, so here is an update. I spent the weekend with my mistress, as lately with my busy work schedule I have clearly been neglecting her (something she likes to remind me on a daily basis). Saturday we went and got her some new shoes, a task that I thought should have taken only a couple of hours, but I guess the ol' lady was a little pickier than I would have been. Must not be one of those things us men understand very well; Here is what she looks like sporting her new treads.
Oh you want to see pictures of the whole new shoe process, alright you asked for them so I will oblige. A buddy of mine had a lift that I could have borrowed, but I had neglect to get it picked up and I wanted to get the job done so a little bit of thought and presto.
One thing that I did learn this weekend was cheap tire tubes are really not worth the price and make a nice 'burp' sound when pinched by the tire spoons. Thankfully I had a parts runner, thanks Mom, and found tubes locally for the ol' Girl. Yeah I know people do this every day and would be much more efficient with the process, but why keep something around this old if I am not willing to do all the work yourself?
No sooner do I get the tires all back on, the chain cleaned and lubed, the bike washed and look what my other Mother decided to throw my way. Yeah, pretty much took care of my evening. Nothing quite like retiring the evening with the guys from the fire station after 'shoe shoppin' with the Misses.
Today was a completely different story, great day to be out riding and even got a little wax on her. Until our next outing or day in the spa (yes she still has some serious body and frame work that needs to be done)...

About time...
Well, I have been a little remiss lately at updating my blog for personal content so I figured it is about time I post something. When all the family was here Savannah asked for a visit to the fire station; off we headed to visit the station and any station visit wouldn't be complete with out some pictures.

Makayla and Savannah trying out the firefighter seat on the structure engine. There was nothing quite like riding in a rear facing seat headed to the reported 'big one'. Unfortunately they just had to settle for sitting in the seats, but maybe when they get older they can feel the adrenaline rush.
Any visit to the fire house also requires that every rig gets a little seat time, they were more impressed with the air ride seats than how many gallons of water the rig hauled.
One must function check the sirens and the horns on all the apparatus as well. Lil M got the siren going, but was unable to shut it off in the brush rig as easily as the other apparatus. Unfortunately I missed taking pictures of them trying on gear and raiding the station fridge for water, but that was all part of the visit as well.
The new little nephew really fits into the family, not only does he resemble his Uncle, he also enjoys eating (another favorite past time of his uncle). While it appears that he is about to devour a taco dinner he actually had to share all that food, but he was still excited to see the plate appear. I should have taken a video of his excitement, but the restaurant was pretty crowded so the noise would have been less than cool.
Somebody has decided that Grumpa is a-okay; Just chillin' with his ballon and Grumpa while waiting for the next big event of the weekend.
Of course, there are always the funny books that need to have the pages turned at the Grandparents house, plus there is plenty of time to get away from the hectic events and enjoy a little reading time in the corner. Well, that is if you can get the corner as that corner is quite popular and difficult to steal some seat time.Monday, July 14, 2008

Best Job in the WORLD!!!
What a week, sorry for not getting the rant out on Wednesday; while the rant was posted I didn't get it scheduled correctly to auto post. Oops!
This weekend was absolutely nice warm weather, weather that makes me really wish I was out enjoying the open road. Unfortunately, the motorcycle is still not completely ready to go since I still have a box of parts in the living room that need to be installed before it will be ready to run. Spent the weekend watching firefighters do their thing and offering a little of my energy as well.
The rest of the family was off at convention, so I haven't been able to spoil the nephew much lately. I think my dog is missing Savannah since he has trained her quite well at tossing the tennis ball for him. But this is what it looks like when I am babysitting, most of the time. I think my sister's have pictures of me nappin' will all the nephews and nieces; but like my shirt says, "I CAN sleep for days!"
Sorry, no posts of delicious looking food from this weekend. I know some of your are just absolutely deflated and crushed that I didn't have something to make your mouth water.

Little T
Here is a picture of my newest nephew on Sunday morning. He was looking at his Mom almost as if to say, “You have got to be kidding me. Who let me Uncle in and how many days did you say he was staying?” He is such a cute kid, I just wish I would get to spend more time with them. Can't believe how much the kids have grown.
