Call for help!!!

Alright readers, I need your help. I made a goal that I would have my blog read by someone in all fifty states by the end of the year and so far I have done quite well, and we are just wrapping up the third quarter. As you can see on the map below there are still five states where I have yet to get a hit. Here is my challenge to you; if you know someone in any of the white states (well anyone for that matter who might enjoy reading) send them an e-mail with a link to my blog. Even if they only read it once, that is okay.
Check back in a couple of days to see my third quarter visitor statistics. Thanks to all my faithful followers that have made my blogging experience enjoyable...

I have also added the follower widget, so feel free to add yourself as a follower of my blog. It is nice to know my frequent visitors...

Sure, Why not

Your Eyes Should Be Brown

Your eyes reflect: Depth and wisdom

People find you to be: Loyal, honest, and comforting

Your best trait: You are comfortable with who you are, and you don't pretend to be someone you're not

What's hidden behind your eyes: A tender heart

Short Fuses

I was just reading the comments on my last rant and realized that some of them are very true; that experience was a perfect time to show composure under fire. I guess I let my own abilities get me all whriled up, just because I check the custom install opitions when I install software, just because I have learned so well how to recovered data from compromised drives, all because I know exactly how many years I have been doing what I do and never once thought that a perfect stranger has no ability to look at my resume of experience.

The flip side of the story is that I did get the drive replaced (but the new one has its own problems) and feel whole again with my usb mass storage device back in operation. Did I learn a lesson, maybe but I am sure I will probably make the same mistake but at least in the future I will have a 'template' on how I should react instead of just venturing on into uncharted territory.

The Rest of the Story...

Yes I know I have been shirking my duties as a blogger, but I have good reason; I have been preoccupied in other areas of my life that have not had much excitement in quite awhile.

Now as P H would say, "Now for the rest of the story." No Cherice I didn't get married, but my best friend from college did. She married a really quiet man, and I think I might have gotten three complete sentences out of him the entire weekend. I did manage to extract a lot of shoulder shrugs and facial expressions, but very little verbal communication.
For most of the weekend I was the Bride's Servant, which of course explains the picture of my pink 'neck tie'. Oh wait, nah actually that doesn't explain the story. She has a great sense of humor and on one of my many errands I thought, you know what would be funny, I should wear a dog collar and leash the day of the wedding. Two errands later I was right next door to a Petco and I walked out a proud new owner of a pink collar and leash.
I wish I had a video camera of her face going from frustrated to a glowing smile when she saw the dog collar. That alone was worth it, being the Bride's Servant and Jester for the day wasn't all that bad. Yeah, I was tired but I had fun taking care of things so she could focus on her day and not be stressed out about the little things.
All in all the trip was a great success and it was fun to visit with Family and Friends; I just wish I had more time to visit with friends along the way, rather than buzz by under their radar.

Stupid People

We all have them, those little pet peeves that just IRRITATE us to the point where we just want to physically hurt someone. For me one of these peeves are call center employees who treat you like you are a complete idiot who barely knows how to unpack an electronic device let alone operate one. I am sure there are plenty of people who call in with a problem and the only thing wrong is they don't have power to the computer, but really if the person you are talking to knows the lingo and the steps on the trouble shooting flow chart you are reading to them, don't you think they might know something? Who do they really think developed the step by step trouble shooting guide? It might just have been an IT Field Technician who has experienced problems before and know what to check and to tweak to make things work.

Recently I had a brand new USB Flash Drive fail, which shocked me because I have NEVER failed one in my life. Yeah, I have recovered data off of smashed devices, I have dried devices out, I have even used a device for years that has no exterior skin. I know I am not a full time IT Guru who spends hours fixing problems after problems on computers, but I do know a thing or two about computers and non-functioning hot-swap devices. I found it truly amazing when the person on the other end of the phone told me to verify with my network administrator that I had the rights to use USB drives. Now maybe it was highly rude of me to say, "Hang on let me ask...Hey, Carl did you give yourself the rights to access USB drives? Are you sure? Cause this lady thinks that might be why my, or your, USB Flash Drive quit working. Ok, I will tell her that Fred said Carl is too stupid and irresponsible to have any rights..."

All in all, I do like the products the company makes and will probably continue to use them, but their Technical Support is like standing at the customer service counter at OfficeMAX. And yes, the manager there hates me for my response to the question, "Well did you try it in another computer?"

9. I am used to changing my film every 24 exposures

8. Pelican makes a cool memory case

7. My Momma told me to never carry all my eggs in one basket.
